The Department of Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) has updated the “EHS Condition of Employment” Requirements of medical surveillance and safety training for current and future employees. This is based on established policies and procedures which support the University’s overall mission to maintain a safe environment; ensure regulatory compliance; and recognize and control health and safety hazards.

For positions which place employees in a healthcare environment or have duties involving healthcare, the Supervisor, Human Resources Facilitator or Manager, must understand the “EHS Condition of Employment” requirements and communicate them to their employees. The requirements pertain to vaccines, medical surveillance or other required safety training which must be accomplished within the first 10 days of their employment with the University. Detailed information regarding these policies and procedures is available in the Department of Environment, Health and Safety manual.

The hiring Department should provide the “EHS Conditions of Employment” document to their employees and the items outlined in the document must be completed in accordance to the time frames and frequency specified. This document is to be placed in the employees departmental personnel file.

If questions arise regarding these procedures, please contact EHS at 919-962-5507 for assistance.
