Girsberger Pronto

Description

This is an adjustable chair with a few options, such as sliding seat, synchronous seat and back movement. Some adjustments require either a lot of force, or tools (armrest width). The armrests have rotating dials for armrest height adjustment. The chair is available in 2 sizes. Wide seat pan and standard width.

Seat Description

The seat adjusts in height, angle and depth. The seat angle adjusts forward and backward. It is available to two different sizes.

Backrest Description

The backrest is adjustable in height angle and tension required to rock backward. It rocks in sync with the seat. The height adjustment is a 3-sided knob on the back. Due to its look, some may mistake this knob for ornamentation.

Armrest Description

There are different armrests available. The chair evaluated had hard rubber, convex armrests with sharp edges and corners. They are height adjustable and width adjustable. The width adjustment requires a screwdriver.

Unique Features

This chair has a stylistic look. The standard armrests are uniquely shaped and can be quite uncomfortable. Fortunately, they can be removed, fitted with different caps or purchased with different armrest options.

Comments

The armrest height adjustment is easy to use and set so that each armrest is at the same height. However the display each armrest's height is on the outside of the chair. The form, concave armrests with sharp edges are a drawback, as is needing to use a screwdriver to adjust width. There is a hole on the inside where you could see numbers if they had been painted on the inside, but they were not. The seat and back tilt is nice. Seat back height adjustment never seems to be adjustable as far up as desired. The chair has a significant lumber curve, however, adjusting that curve to an individual's height can be difficult. While seated, the awkward hand posture required to turn the knob on the back makes it extremely difficult to use. Most people will have to get out of the chair to make this adjustment. The tension adjustment is the standard knob hidden under the chair and is difficult to use. The seat height adjustment is asymmetric to the seat, so it feels like it is out of place. Overall, this chair gets points for being stylish and adjustable but loses points for the difficulty of some of its adjustments. Those considering this chair should investigate alternative armrest options if armrests are desired at all.
