Girsberger Zampano

Description

This is a new Girsberger model. It has a wide range of adjustments: seat height, depth and angle; backrest height, tension and angle; armrest height and angle. Unusually, this chair has an independent lumbar adjustment. The backrest and seat can tilt independently. Zampano offers an optional, nonadjustable, headrest.

Seat Description

Seat pan is adjustable in height, depth, and forward and backward tilt.

Backrest Description

The backrest is adjustable in height, tilt and tension. It also has an independently adjustable lumbar support.

Armrest Description

The armrests are adjustable in height and width. The armrest height adjustment is hidden but, if you know where it is, the adjustment is very easy to use. Unfortunately, the armrests are somewhat hard and sharp -- not for resting your arms on while typing.

Unique Features

The armrest height adjustment is unusually easy to use. There is also a lumbar adjustment which is an unusual bonus.

Comments

This chair took a while to get used to. In appearance, it seems that it should be top notch, but when you sit in the chair and try to adjust it, some of the adjustments are hidden (armrest height and lumbar adjust), not easy to get to (tension, armrest width, lumbar, backrest height), and/or difficult to operate (armrest width, backrest height, seat depth). The seat depth in particular is very hard to operate. The hard armrests are quite uncomfortable although, the armrest height is very easy to adjust, possibly the easiest reviewed. Also, if you wanted to move the armrests back slightly, they can be swapped and reversed to move them backward. The lumbar adjust is a nice feature for people wo like/need it. Finally, the padding has a thin feel to it, giving the chair an overall firm feel. Not on state contract.
