Stylex Click

Description

A very adjustable task chair. This one had a small back though it is available in larget sizes too. This chair opts for firm padding instead of being "cushy".

Seat Description

The seat adjustable in height, depth and forward tilt.

Backrest Description

Backrest adjustable in height and angle.

Armrest Description

The armrests are adjustable in height and width. The armrests adjust by lifting straight up on each arm. Unfortunately, to adjust the armrests down, the user has to raise the armrest all the way up and let it drop all the way to the lowest height, then raise to the desired height. Recently, Stylex has developed a new arm that pivots 360 degrees. The 360-degree rotating armrests can be useful in moving the armrests out of the way for work close to a desk.

Unique Features

The armrests also pivot 360 degrees. This isn't unique to this chair alone but it is a relatively uncommon option. Unfortunately, they have a rather sharp ridge (padded but still a sharp angle) which the user's elbows may rest on if the fit between elbow and armrest is not perfect. Rising out of the chair while pressing on the armrests may cause them to pivot out unexpectedly. The sudden movement can be startling.

Comments

Depending on the options with this chair, it can be surprisingly inexpensive or very pricy. This model did not have a tension adjustment for the backrest, which makes it almost too easy to rock the seat backwards for users who like to rock in the seat. The seat sliding mechanism was difficult to activate, and with the arms attached to the seat pan, it was hard to adjust the seat while seated. For some users, the seat height adjustment may be difficult to reach because the user will have to reach over the armrests to activate it. The ratcheting armrest height was easy to use, yet it was difficult to get each armrest at exactly the right height. If the armrest goes even one "click" too high, the user has to raise the armrest all the way up, let it go back to the bottom and start again. Overall, this chair is a middle-of-the-road chair. Some nice features but some areas that may be aggrivating for the user.
