OWASA continued to meet or surpass all Federal and State standards for drinking water quality in 2017. The annual Water Quality Report Card was recently mailed to all account holders. The report may also be viewed by visiting www.owasa.org, calling 919-968-4421 to request a hard copy, or by sending an email to info@owasa.org.

“Our core mission at OWASA is to provide safe, high quality drinking water and we work hard every day to ensure this goal is met,” said Ken Loflin, Water Supply and Treatment Manager. “We are happy to answer questions about our drinking water and continue to offer in-home water quality testing to customers at no charge. Contact us anytime at 919-537-4228 orĀ wtplaboratory@owasa.org. We also invite customers to visit the drinking water section of our website to learn more about our services.”

The Water Quality Report Card includes information about:

  • Our community’s water sources
  • Watershed protection
  • Drinking water treatment processes
  • Results from laboratory testing of OWASA drinking water for more than 150 substances
  • OWASA’s water characteristics such as mineral content and pH
  • And much more.

The laboratory staff at OWASA’s Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant in Carrboro follows Federal and State standards for testing water. The OWASA laboratory is certified by the State of North Carolina.
