EHS proudly presents the 2024 Impact Report, celebrating 50 years of service in fostering a safe and healthy UNC-Chapel Hill campus environment.

“The report showcases the hard work our team put in throughout the year to meet compliance regulations and keep our campus safe,” says EHS Executive Director Cathy Brennan. “From thousands of safety trainings and inspections to proactive initiatives like expanding AED coverage, our focus remains protecting everyone on campus.”

Key Achievements

  • Safety Training: Over 6,700 employees trained in critical safety procedures.
  • Site Inspections: More than 1,000 inspections completed across campus facilities.
  • Water Testing: Nearly 600 drinking water samples collected.
  • Employee Health: The UEOHC treated over 3,400 employees.
  • Waste Disposal: Almost 130,000 pounds of regulated waste disposed of safely.

From the installation of more than 300 new AEDs across campus to assisting in emergency response after Hurricane Helene and partnering with Campus Health to provide flu and COVID vaccinations, EHS remains committed to protecting and supporting the Carolina community.
