Please be advised that there is a plumbing shutdown scheduled for Monday, October 21 starting at 5 p.m. for the Franklin building.
Please be advised of the following updates to the construction activity at Franklin/Rosemary.
Please be advised that on Thursday, September 4, the water to the entire building (Franklin and Rosemary) will be shut down for necessary repairs to the risers in the building between 5:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m.
Please be advised that the abatement of the third floor at Franklin is complete and has had the final inspection of the work. The demo of the third floor on Rosemary is ongoing and expected to be completed within 3 weeks. At that time, abatement will begin in that area.
After reports of potential contamination in the office suites on the 2nd floor at 137 E. Franklin St., UNC Environment, Health and Safety inspected the 2nd floor and confirmed that containment measures related to the work being completed by the contractor on the 3rd floor may have been breached.
Construction activities are continuing.
Abatement will begin on the 3rd floor of Franklin and Rosemary on August 5 and is expected to take 4 weeks.
Air monitoring has started, with abatement to come the week of August 5.
Demolition has started with more to come, followed by asbestos abatement.
