Projects

Stormwater Control Measures (SCMs) are devices that treat stormwater from developed areas. The following are projects that have been implemented at UNC-Chapel Hill and are examples of long-term measures aimed at improving water quality in those areas.

UNC-Chapel Hill was an early adopter of new types of stormwater control measures and helped to develop design guidance for these practices.

Unique Projects

UNC-Chapel Hill has received grant funding to do water quality improvements on campus at the following sites:

• Battle Grove Regenerative Stormwater Conveyance
• Chapel Creek Wetland at Outdoor Education Center

UNC-Chapel Hill has partnered with the North Carolina state mitigation agency on the following projects:

• Chapel Creek Stream Restoration
• Morgan Creek Floodplain Restoration
