Accidents and Injuries
Employees are required to notify their supervisor immediately of any job-related injury or illness (including near misses). If the injured employee is unable to do so, then a fellow employee should notify the supervisor.
Supervisors are responsible for ensuring that the employee receives prompt treatment (UEOHC, UNC Emergency Room for life threatening/after hours), complete the required incident forms, and submit incident forms to Environment, Health and Safety (EHS).
NOTE: If the injury results in death, hospitalization, amputation, or loss of eye(s), then EHS must be notified immediately at 919-962-5507. For after-hours injuries, please page EHS at 919-969-0785.
